Is there some special thing that you think you will accomplish if you can live forever? (even spiritually) There is only so much to accomplish, and at a certain point wouldn't just existing get boring? Wouldn't death, in the sense of the long dirt nap be preferable to eternal boredom?

Hand_Of_J shows us a perfect exampel of why peopel delude themselves into believing in god.

Peopel are scared of Death, because NO-ONE has ever come back to tell us what its like. Peopel want to believe in some 'Heaven' as it makes them feel safer about dying, instead of just embracing it

I believe that it is natural to want to live. We are given this instinct to keep us from harm. And because the experience of physical death has not happened, we really don't want to do it.

However, everyone must experience physical death. But, not spiritual death. When we realize this and believe that there is spiritual life through and because of Jesus's physical death on the cross, and then His resurrection, then we in some ways can look forward to it.

Remember also, that when this eternal spiritual life happens, there will be others, that you love who will be there too. Along with God and Jesus. It won't be boring,

I don't think people are afraid of death, it is the unknown that scares people.,or leaving loved ones behind. The number one thing is not believing in the Lord- he died for us and our sin's , the ones we have committed and the ones we will commit, that is why he forgives so easily. This is for all people. Yes you are right only so much to be done in life. I wish that every one would just stop for a few minutes and close there eyes and take a deep breath and count there lucky stars.

Im not afraid to die. Of course, we will see how I react when its actually staring me in the face. But thats a different story....

Ya know, Ive often fantasized what it would be like to be immortal, like a vampire. Would it really be that boring to accomplish everything in life? I think not...I think I would be constantly amazed at the changing world around me, while I remained the same....that would fascinate me more than bore me.... But thats just me....

Everyone isn't afraid of death. I'm not, and I know a good many people who also say they are not. I am afraid of whatever kind of hideous pain or suffering I might have to endure just prior to death, but death itself is of no real significance to me. It's just inevitable and nothing to fear. I am much more afraid that one of my children will precede me, because I feel that unnatural in the order of things, and it's a level of pain I don't want to ever endure. That, to me, would be hell on earth.

i myself am not afraid of death. i would embrace it, just as much as i embrace my life. every day has a turning point, you never know which day will be "your day to go" so just shut up and live it up while you can. and your right, my friend, there is a limit on how much you can accomplish...some people just want to accomplish more than the average joe, they wan to conquer the world and all thats in it. its human. sad...but true.

I dont think everyone is scared of death, I think it premature death and painful death that we are scared of. I dont know about everyone else but I dont wanna die cause I dont want my children to grow up without a mother. Its too sad to even think about. What else is there really in this life but to love each other and if thats cut short by death than that scary.

I'm not afraid of death. I don't see why anyone who is born again would be.

To quote a preacher I once heard, "If you are born again, life on earth is as bad as it is going to get. If you aren't, then this is as good as it's going to get."

I'm sure plenty of people will disagree, but I believe it whole heartedly and definitely do not fear things getting better!

Do you like to travel?

how about through an unending ever expanding universe of Gods creation... don't let the limitations of this life distract you from the anticipation of the next.

Some people are afraid of death because they may want to do more things before they die or it's because in the bible it says that you won't remember any one when you die or it's because they don't know if they will go to heaven, hell, and limbo or they don't know what will happen.
