where does this idea come from?
I read the bible, i don't see it in there

It comes from men's limited understanding of the prophecies in the Book of Daniel, and in the Book of Revelation.

Both books speak of the same things.

Nobody really knows if anyone is right on this. For the present time, it should be considered speculation.

Time will tell, though.

The Roman Empire managed to outlast every other empire, that is until Christianity came and f'd everything up.

Well, considering most of the first Christian Writings were to do with the 'Fall of Rome', Rome was always seen as the enemy of Christianity. They turned it into a Pariah, something to scare the kids with if they were bad
