Last week my little baby was in diapers and by the end of the week she is out of diapers and going potty, and now she wants to help with everything from making her own food to help cleaning and putting things away and from doing everything on her own even with going potty she does not want any help. Only with in a few days she liked grew up to be a big girl. She is only two almost three. Has anyone esle exsperiance from one day being the baby and then the next to being a big kid. I miss helping her but I also now it's good and better for her to start learning on her own.

well i cant say that i relate to the whole watching my baby grow up, but i can say that i am in one of those growing up stages in my life right now, and my mom thinks its still going too fast....she still talks of all the cute things i said when i was little, learning to walk and talk and all that fun stuff....but now im grown up and starting a life of my own, university and independent living...trust me it doesnt go any slower, so get ready for a quick ride and cherish every moment with your daughter....share every milestone together and make her see the important things in life. let her learn those tough lessons on her own and doing things for herself....but when she needs it she'll come to you first for that advice about the boy in her class, or ask you to teach her to drive your car. let her grow, but grow with her. thats what my mom did for me. she'll definitely thank you for it later, i know i did. and you'll always have that special bond with eachother that no one else can take away.......its really a great feeling in the end and the beginning of a wonderful friendshi[p.

Be glad she potty trained so quickly and easily, my 3 1/2 year old is finally just barely potty trained. But yeah I know what you mean about them growing up quick. Enjoy the extra free time you have not needing to baby her so much! Maybe it's time to start thinking about another so you can have a baby again? Anyway, my 21 month old is getting big too quick she's already way ahead of where my older one was at the same age. And my newborn is already 12 pounds and is growing out of her 0-3 month old clothes at 1 1/2 months. I wish they would grow up slower so I won't want another baby too soon. Time flies way too quick when they are so little. Pretty soon I'll blink and they'll all be teenagers...ahhhhhh!

I know the feeling, 17 month old daughter here. Time flies, esp. when you look at pictures, how they grow. Just be sure you take lots of them and also record different things,so that you can go take a look at the baby she once was. When I think shes growing to fast,I also realize that I would worry should she not grow, so I guess we should be thankful they are healthy and growing, and give them all we can because there are many children in todays world that lack lots of things our babies get.

Tell me about it! Some kids just grow up really fast. I have an 18month old little girl and she is so dependant, she goes to the potty by herself and even cleans her room by herself she even tries to fold her clothes. She puts them away put she cant fold them yet but she trying. Sometimes I wish that she could just be a baby again.

my daughter just turned 2. she likes to help mommy all the time : ) she helps me load/unload the dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer, she likes to clean (sometimes I think she makes messes on purpose so she can clean them up!) she's getting the hang of dressing herself, she can put slip-on and velcro shoes on alone, she'll wash herself in the bath, all sorts of stuff! everyday she's more and more independent

yes, I understand your sorrow at not being so needed anymore (and have seen first-hand the anger/frustration that little angel displays sometimes because she doesn't want your help!)

they grow up fast cause our lives are on "fast-forward" mode (though we'd like to be able to hit "slow-mo" or even "pause" to extend our times of joy)

remember when you were a kid and you thought time/life passed so slowly? you couldn't wait to grow up so you could do grown up stuff. then you get to be about 16-18 and realize the "real-world" is waiting for you and that time/life is speeding up. time/life keeps speeding up little by little as we age but I think it hits "fast-forward" mode once we become parents. we know that this is the most important time for us to nurture our babies and we relish every moment we have with them and I think this is why it goes by so quickly, there is so much to love, so much to do, so much to learn, that before we know it a year has passed, then another and another . . .

I'm a proud pop of an 18 month old little girl. It goes too fast. Just enjoy every minute and take lots of pics and videos.

it totally goes by fast, i used to carry or pick my daughter up when ever she wanted. every one used to say, why are you spoiling her, my reply was i only have about a year or so to do this when she learns how to walk it's over. she's 22 now and it still feels like yesterday. enjoy!!!

Every child wants to be BIG like mommy. They want to copy us and do what we do. Cherish every moment of her at this age because soon enough they will be teenagers and wont lift a finger. hahaha.

someone at church once asked me that. my answer was
'can you really look at jim (downs syndrome son of
another couple) and ask that?' some children cannot
grow up and that is a real tragedy. celebrate each new
stage, embrace it, enjoy it wile it lasts, and know
something new is always on the horizon.
