Are you or do you know any Cutters who are boys?

Question

I am a college student getting my master in education. I am doing a report of cutting and cutters. Typically it is known as a "girl" problem. I am intersted finding out more about boy cutters.
Any information you can give me would be very helpful.

I work in the residential treatment industry, and yes, boys DO cut. It's not as frequent, for some reason, as it is among girls, but there are definitely more boy cutters than we wish there were. Cutting is SO hard for me to understand, but one of my daughters who turned to drugs, etc., was cutting a little before I sent her through a program. She said that the pain helped solve some of the pain on the inside. There's some kind of perverse delight in seeing their own blood - it somehow reminds them that they're still alive.

Good luck in your research. You'll find some information on boys, I'm sure. The issues that drive people to cut are cross-gender, for sure.

I'm not a boy, I'm a man now, but I have been a cutter and have also used cigarrette lighters in my early teens (15-18) to put burn marks on my body.

When I do these things it is because of a very depressed mood, and since I am so low and really don't feel much of anything, I cut myself or harm myself to feel the pain, which lets me know I am still alive and feeling.

Yeah, one of my guy friends used to cut himself. He had and still does have a lot of problems, his parents just don't understand him... when he would have big fights with them he would cut himself, but when they found out they put him in theraphy, and since he's been able to talk about what's going on, he stopped.

NO BUT THERE WAS A GIRL THAT WAS VERY I MEAN VERY BOYISH AND NOW SHE IS AT A DIFFERENT SCHOOL THAT HAS A FEW GOOD KIDS BUT THE REST ARE MOSTLY BAD AND THAT IS THE PARENTS FAULTS FOR MAKING THEM BAD!!!!
