I have a 7 yr. old. Bedtime during the week is 8:30 weekends 9 or 9:30. Children can usually keep up with your schedule whether is a weekday or not. It depends on you and your schedule. Good Luck!

My children don't have a bedtime during the weekend. I agree to this, because they have excellent grades, do housework without a fight...it just all depends on how you feel about it. My foster children (ages 4) go to bed at 8, no matter what day it is.! But for the age of 8...weekends I would say 10ish.

For the weekends I would have them in bed by 8 or 8:30 but give the option of going to bed or reading for 20-30 min. On the weekend no later than9:30pm.

9 o'clock sounds good to me for weekdays. On weekends, I'd say 11:30.
