I am getting married next May, and I am having my wedding at an Historic Mansion, and the reception at a winery. I was wondering what kind of food I should have at the reception? I was thinking maybe like a cocktail reception, but I am not sure what kind of food would go with that. Can anyone help me?

Most wineries only allow wine to be served. However anyone who doesn't like wine is left in the cold.

You can do whatever you want. If you choose to have a cocktail reception, your food needs to be heavy so that it's substantial enough to soak up any alcohol. A good caterer will have heavy enough appetizers that your guests can easily make a full meal from them.

Ask the winery for suggestions of foods that go with their wines. I think beef, cheese, crackers, and fruits go the best for me.
