I'm sorry you've been feeling so bad.
It could be a number of things:
1. it could be seasonal affective disorder, where your moods seem to darken as the days shorten.
2. it could be depression (you could take one of those online depression questionaires)
3. it could be that there's just a lot that's up in the air for you right now... and you're kind of in limbo.
I think the kindest thing you could do for yourself is to keep your focus on you. It's very difficult to live in fear of someone leaving. The truth is, nothing you can say or do will MAKE him leave or stay. He will decide that for himself.
Keep the focus on you. On your talents and your accomplishments. Try to do one new thing everyday... something small. Drive on a new road, go to a new grocery store, go into a store you've never been in.
You might also find it very helpful to see a therapist.
You're not a failure. You are a beautiful, giving woman who's beating herself up.
It happens to everyone. Remember that depression is a disease of isolation. So, of course you feel like everyone is doing better than you. But, it's not true.
Get out more in the world. Slowly.
Relax.
Breathe deeply.
And help yourself help yourself.
You can do it.

I am a past family support facilitator for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)...
What you describe may be attributable to Manic-Depression, otherwise known as Bi-polar disease, a form of mental illness. It is treatable through medication. You should make an appointment with your doctor. She can recommend you to a psychiatrist for treatment.
My wife has had this condition for thirteen years. It takes some time to get the medication adjusted properly but the disease can be managed. I hope the stigma attached to mental illness by our society will not prevent you from getting treatment. Having a mental illness is like having diabetes. It is a medical condition involving your biochemistry. In this case the disease affects your ability to think clearly and emote properly.
With proper medication and treatment, you should notice a real difference. All the best to you.

if you cant talk to anyone close Id go to talk to someone, I was like that for a long time, many years IM better now, and it took a big scare (almost died by cutting to deep, and overdosing a lot)for me to wake up and relize i want to be around. It was a hard thing to over come, but I am able to talk about my feelings which makes it a little better, Im not on meds. anymore and I couldnt be happier. You might want to see about some bipolar meds, or something like that...If you need anyone to talk to but dont want to talk to someone you know you could email me and Ill talk to you about eveything, I went through and can try and help..Im not on everyday but if you wanttyping it out might help to I will always respond to you, the email is Heathers_work_from_home@yahoo.com.if not just know that the invite is there. It might also sever good to go to the hospital and get an eval, and stay for a week or so, and get meds while there. good luck, and try and talk to your boyfriend and family.

i think you should ignore all of those other answers, because you yourself answered your own question. "(on a really bad day)". just that, when you have problems. what you don't understand is that EVERYONE has problems and EVERYONE has thought about suicide before. just because they don't do it doesn't mean they haven't thought about it. you're very foolish, though. i mean, everyone is. you let your problems tempt you to do bad things to yourself. that's strange...
having said that, basically, everyone has problems, everyone feels the same way you feel on bad days and they have good days too. i could take this onto a psychological level with chemicals, but im not gonna because i don't feel the need. you said it's hard to resist self injuring. well i think it's because you want it to be. it's really very simple, nothing is hard unless you make it. just realize everyone has these problems and also realize you need to stop with these temptations.
you're in control.

You may be experiencing clinical depression. I would strongly suggest that you seek assistance through a mental health professional. You might need to be prescribed anti-depressants if the doctor feels it's necessary...even if only temorary. The factors that concern me the most is that you feel suicidal & cutting yourself...even if it's only occasionally really needs addressing. Perhaps difficulties that you've never been able to face from your past are beginning to surface.
You really owe it to yourself to seek help. It can and will get better...but you have to put it to action and not rely on old habits to make it better. It is only when you deal with your past can you create a new and better future. You deserve to be happy.

Did your ever think that people look and you and think that you are doing well? People could say that you have so much going on and you are so organized at keeping things altogether.
Don't dis yourself. No one is perfect in every way, even if they look like that to others.
Look at your self in a positive way, Walk straight and talk and smile. Everyone will think that you have a new attitude and you are so nice. Don't worry about what everyone thinks just be happy with yourself then you Will be happy.

I can relate to that in a way im not suicidal though. But ive stressed my boyfriend out with my moodswings. They really freak him out sometimes. He seems to be understanding though but ive worried several times about him feeling like he cant take it. Sometimes i get in these really enrgetic moods where i cant set still and i just want to talk about anything ( that kinda freaks him out to sometimes) but then other times i feel like im so overwhelmed and theres nothing i can do about it. I dont know though, its crazy.

You are very stressed and probably this has caused physical upset to your routines. As usual in this macho world we are expected to play second fiddle to any man in our life. Find someone to talk to, someone you can trust who does not know your man and let your feelings out! Shout and scream but never harm yourself, your body is the only one you have, damage it and it's with you forlife. Care about yourself, look at yourself in the mirror and just say, hell I deserve more than this, smile and give yourself a hug.
