If so, how much does it affect your lifestyle? Does it annoy you?

If it irritates you give your true feelings in your answer. Have you ever lost your temper with a cheeky shop assistant who looks younger than you but won't accept you're 18 and won't believe the ID card is really yours? If yes what did you say and do?

I have posted more information at:

Mr original question was inaccurate and I placed it in the wrong category.

To save you the trouble of following the link here's my message:

I'm 25, I live in the UK and I still get ID'd. I see it as a form of discrimination. Imagine if you go to a club with your mates and you're singled out and you can't go in. It can make your blood boil! This has happened to me several times and has hobbled my chances of getting a date!

I agree that too many young kids get their hands on alcohol but why does the law have to punish those who are at the legal age but who don't look it? What have they done wrong? This is totally unfair.

Also, the law for drinking in the UK is defined at:

My brother get's really p!ssed off when he get's asked for I.D in shops as he's 22 and he looks about 25 and he always kicks off at them when they ask him for it. He says it really p!sses him off when you've been at work all day and you go to the shops to pick up some beers or whatever and you get I.D by a kid half you're age. When they didn't believe he was over 18 last time he went to get something he went f'n mad at the staff and in the end a guy behind him offered to pay for them. Yeah i agree tho it is really annoying!

I always get asked for ID and I'm 24 it's very embarrassing! The most embarrassing time was when I got asked for ID in an Ann Summers shop and the assistant looked about 15!

No, 23 yrs old and haven't been asked or ages. I used to work in a few bars and hardly ever ID'd anyone, only those that were blatantly under age!

Where I work we have a policy to ask for ID if anyone looks under 21. we will sell to 18 and over but they have to prove their age, this proves embarrassing for us just as it does for those being asked.

If we sell alcohol to some one under age it is us that is fined £80.00 not the store and we also then have a criminal record so you see now why you get asked we have to protect ourselves.
