Europe, in general, has a really good education system, so it would benefit your kids a lot. Depending on the schools, there could be more rigorous training, however. Be careful.

My parents live in Spain and they know a few English families that use the Spanish schools, they say their children are doing really well. Their are also quite a lot of English schools over there.

I will say this much though, when i go over there, if you are out in a car when the schools or college's are going in or finishing the police patrol the roads. Priority is ALWAYS given to the students and there is NO parking near to the school gates or on the surrounding roads. The schools usually come up with an agreement with a local hall or shopping centre where parents can park safely and walk to collect, or drop off the children. Shame we don't adopt that idea over here!

The best education for your children in Spain would be the International schools, State run Spanish schools are on the whole better than their english counterparts, but if your children are older then they may struggle as all lessons will be in Spanish. They do have a large emphasis in teaching Spanish kids English, so English kids will benefit socially, but will miss out during those lessons. As with any schooling system, you get what you pay for! Spanish International schools follow the Spanish curriculum and the English system and would be far more beneficial just in case you come back to the UK. Buena Suerte

my aunt has lived in spain for 10 years with her 4 children. They all go to school there and their education is very good. A lot of the children in their school are english anyway. They also all speak fluent spanish and have all done brilliantly with their exams. I'm not sure if the education is better over there, but judging by how well they are doing and how much they enjoy their school and school work i should imagine it is a lot better. My kids, who school in London are not half as commited to their school work like my cousins are!

It depends on where you live. One of my old teachers has gone to teach in spain and he told me there private schools most of the schools teach to a high level. The best thing to do is say which area in spain you want to live and then it narrows down you question.

lol, Toby "red survays" in a question about edication. I find that ironic!

I don't know how the education systems stack compare, bt keep in mind that Spanish schools will most likely teach in Spanish, lol! If your family is bi-lingual then that's no problem, just an oberservaition I made.
