How can you expect an atheist to answer this question when they do not believe in God. Since they don't believe in God then they could not say that he/she used evolution to make animals.
If they said that God used evolution to make animals than they would not be atheists because they would profess a belief in God.

This is an odd question to ask an atheist. Atheists don't believe that gods exist. So they certainly don't quibble about whether "God" used evolution or whether "God" created animals instantly. To an atheist, "God" just isn't in the picture, period.
The whole notion about God using evolution is not an atheist's compromise. It's the compromise that god-believers who are familiar with cosmology, astrophysics, geology and biology are forced to make in order to continue with their religious faith.

If there were a God, doubtless He could "just make them". That's why all evidence that suggests evolution is real (and even the Christians have started to accept the evidence for "microevolution") upsets so many Christians. It seems to indicate that perhaps if God is there (which can never be disproven or proven), He isn't who the Christians and the bible seem to say He is.

Why would He not use evolution?
The sciences only describe _how_ God created things. Perhaps He did it that way to give us something to wonder about?
It also makes sense that evolution required the smallest outlay of energy. Sure it took a long time, but time is only an invention of humans. God certainly doesn't care about that.

If someone is an atheists they don't believe in God, therefore their eyes evolution is the only way to make organisms.
By the way, you should study evolution because you can have both faith and scientific knowledge at the same time--they don't have to be in conflict.

It's more fun that way.
I'm sure that God likes to conduct long term experiments.
God likes to be in control, but he isn't a total control freak.
He created the groundwork and rules for the evolutionary process. God gave the process free will, like the free will he gave to humans.
BTW, i'm not an Athiest.

I'm no atheist, but I have the answer to your question.
Using evolution would ensure that humanity can understand how it was created and where it is going.
If things just "popped out of the sky" we wouldn't be able to understand the process of life and change.
I personally think the God and evolution are fully compatable. Here's a website:

Well, I guess that is what we should ask the Christians since there is plenty of evidence for evolution. Because of this, it's not called Creationism anymore, it's called Intelligent Design. This is because the scientific evidence cannot be refuted anymore.

Why would God make it look like animals had evolved, instead of creating them to be so unique that we'd never mistake them for having evolved and being related through common ancestors?
