Following up my original question. I am a writer. My character is a Latina woman (probably from Puerto Rico, but doesn't have to be) living in NYC in a kind of sex in the city scenerio. I'm looking for word in Spanish for vagina which would be light and kind of funny...the way they use '********' on Grey's Anatomy or the way girlfriends would use with each other. I do not want to insult anyone by using a vulgar term. Is there such a word? Would the word for 'cat' (gato) ever be used?

Cosita is very common. Both of my ex-wives were Latinas (Peru & El Salvador) and they would say "pica" but I can't find that in any Spanish slang dictionary. Of course for penis, most would say "pinga."

Maybe a native speaker could correct me on this, but I've heard "cosita" (little thing), concha/conchita (seashell), coño (cone), panocha (not sure if there's a literal translation there), among others. I think cosita would be safe.

not sure if this spelled right, but chocha, pronouced just like it sounds, ( ch-O- cha). Never call a woman's vagina a cat. PLEASE. That would be taken offensively.

"Papaya", "pepita," those are the only ones i do know. "gato" would not work that would sound stupid.
P.S "Panocha" (i think thats how you spell it) works as well but its one of the more vulgar ways to say it....
hope this helps good luck!
