does this happen to you as well.... what is it... and why.... it gets to the point where i almost take a nap every time i eat.

and its not small meals either its fairly dinner size meals no snacks

Have your blood sugar (glucose) checked! Your doctor is familiar with this imbalance. I used to do the same thing, and that's what it was.

your body is digesting ,all that lovely grub and has not got much energy left for you.
so you get sleepy or even nap, after a good meal .
Then when all that food has been digested
And the energy is released to your tisues
you are up and active again.

Do you get so tired that you feel like laying down? That would be an overactive prostrate gland....defined as, after a big meal you feel the need to lay prostrate...

As a first measure , you should check your blood sugar. This can be a sign if diabetes. A " Glucose Tolerance Test " might be of great help.

I don't know but I'm trying everything I can to stay awake right now.I am so sleepy, I'm nauseated.I went out for lunch today and had a steak.Now I'm paying for it.I'm miserable and don't get off work for another hour and 20 min.If I could just go to sleeeepppp.......................

Could be too many carbs; that'll sedate you. Or, if you have something sugary, that can make your blood sugar spike and then rapidly fall, resulting in you feeling tired or light-headed.

It could be that you are eating a lot of carbs and your blood sugar spikes and then falls. Or, you could be eating something you have a slight allergy to (dairy, wheat, nuts, etc).

maybe you have a low metabolism- so your body starts to break the food down and it makes you tired.
