I put some on a small cut on my face (about the size of half a dime) and it turn into a huge scab the size of 1.5 quarters!!!

now i cant go out this weekend because i'll look like a fool!

What happened was that your blood coagulated and your skin created its own "band-aid". Neosporin had nothing to do with it and, in fact, prevented infection. If you truly believe that a facial scab will make you "look like a fool", then it doesn't take much to do that, doesn't it?

I know what the nurse before me said, but I can tell you what several doctors have told me. When you put neosporin on a cut it keeps the cut soft, so the scab that would have been there can't do it's job of making its own "band-aid." Then the cut doesn't heal right and ends up actually being bigger than when it happened. If you want to put something on a cut that will clean it, use aftershave (even if its not on your face) or rubbing alcohol. Both of those will do the trick.
