Just like they deleted the section in their doctrine that said that there should be only one woman for one man (sec. 101) when ol joe decided to go with poligamy?

And why are there not one but 2 members of the 'brethren' who are married (sealed, in mormon lingo) to more than one wife!?

And why did I hear a that a 70 in priesthood meeting just 3 months ago say that poligamy would return when Jesus did.

Don't they understand that mormon fundamentalist perverts like warren jeffs came about because of this!?

uh, gee guys, if it's important NOT to delete it because it is church history, than why don't you re-instate 101!?!

All religions have different extreams and beliefs. You can't categorize any of them in one way.

Many christians do not take the bible literally in terms of the Creation, yet they are not ready to remove references about the great flood or Adam and Eve.

Many muslims don't beleive in Jihad as a violent type of holy war, but they aren't ready to ammend the Koran. J

Just the same, Mormans may not want to change their historic religious texts, but that doesn't mean they all take the teachings literally.

We don't delete it for the same reason that no one has removed it from the Bible. It is not our decision to pick and chose what should be in the scriptures.

Section 101 is still in the Doctrine and Covenants. Joseph Smith is his name, not ol joe.

Did you hear a 70 say that or did you hear that a 70 said that? A very big difference.

If you are truly concerned about polygamy, write your senator to put some pressure on those practicing polygamy now.

Why do you care? Honestly?

There are two reasons we do not practice polygamy:
1. The Lord revealed we should not anymore (that is why it was stopped)
2. Because it is against the law and we believe in following the laws of the land.

Why is it so impossible to believe there will be men in the Celestial Kingdom with more than one wife? That does not mean every single male member of the church will of course...
My neighbor's mom died when he was 12 years old. He has a younger brother. His dad was remarried and is sealed to both wives and he has 2 children with his first wife and 3 with his second wife...now why would God make that man choose which wife he wanted to be with in the Celestial Kingdom? He wouldn't.
Who are you to question why or why not God gives a certain commandment?

Get over it. You just keep grasping at anything you can. Satan is laughing and applauding you.

We have no need to delete our history, especially because we believe in modern revelation, there is at the end of Docrine and Covenants a proclimation written by Wilfred Woodruff (who was the prophet after Brigham Young) which clearly states that no one in the church should practice Polygamy.

Why you heard that person said that 3 months ago? I don't know, you'd have to tell me who you heard it from (and question that yourself).

You're right, Warren Jeffs is a pervert (but he's not a member of the church, because anyone found practicing polygamy is excommunicated) and I must say, that what that man does (the rape and forced marriages) is nothing close to how polygamy was practiced in the early church. He has utterly distorted it.

best wishes

If you heard that a Mormon man was sealed to more than one woman it is because his first wife is dead. Mormon men can be sealed to more than one woman, but only have one wife at a time. Warren Jeffs is not a member of the Mormon church, he is a leader of a church that does not believe in or follow the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Please read the Manifesto written by President Wilford Woodruff in 1890.

They are pro-polygamy, but not just now. That is essentially the way that Wilford Woodruff explained it in the Official Declaration secton at the back of the D&C. If you look at the background behind this all, then you will see why Woodruff said that. The presence of the Army coming in to destroy their dwellings had a lot to do with it.
I am sure that they do understand that. In Utah, there are people who are a part of the Mormon church (not one of the splinter groups like FLDS!) who are polygamous and say that Woodruff sold them down the line.

You backed me in a corner with this one.. The Mormons kicked me to the curb years ago because I told them that the Jesus they believe in is false. That He isn't their spiritual brother but the God of all creation.. But here you misrepresent what they believe. I like them to have their real doctrine displayed to the world so that prospective converts to that false church know what the Mormons really are. They still believe in POLYGAMY. They still spiritually practice it!!! If a man is temple married to a woman and she dies. He can then find a new wife and be temple married to her as well (temple married means for time and all eternity).. If a man dies the woman can remarry but only for time.. Any children they would have would belong to the first husband in the here-after... This is so crazy that I want the world to know these STRANGE doctrines. It will go along way to keep normal people from getting tied up with this dangerous cult...Jim

Mormons are not anti-polygamy. Mormons believe that they will have polygamy when Jesus returns, they believe polygamy is in heaven, the false god they believe in is supposed to be a polygamist, they even think Jesus Christ was married and is a polygamist!! Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, etc. were Mormon fundamentalist perverts, the whole religion is one great perversion.

Hmm, I always thought that Warren Jeffs and his ilk came about because most of the prophets in the Bible were polygamists.... (yes, they really were. Go back and check it for yourself.)
