You need a dvd decrypter, loads of free ones to download, do a google search for dvd decrypt, decrypt the file then copy it

if I understand correctly, you are trying to burn a dvd onto a cd burner. that's why it's not working. your combo drive can read dvd's but cannot burn them. it only burns cd;s. what you need to do is use your dvd writer and burn the dvd into an image with nero. this will save the contents of the dvd on your hard drive for later. once done, then you can burn the image of the dvd onto a blank dvd that you put in your dvd writer. DO NOT read from the combo and burn to the dvd writer. you can, however it will take a long time and is more prone to skips and recording errors that way. use nero and burn an image, then burn the image onto a blank dvd and you should be fine.

did you have it fitted by an expert or a friend if a friend has he moved the jumper in the back of 2nd DVD.
top DVD is set to master
2ND the one under the top one is set to slave
the jumper is at the back they are either blue or green with a small wire
across the top you will need to take the bottom one out
turn the computer off first very carefully take the id cable out &4 pin main connecter off to veiw the jumper at the back of dvd to reconnect the id cable there should be a red line on one side this must go towards the 4pin mains connecter then push the 4 pin connecter back on

from someone who used all of them, DVD+/-RW only signifies that your stress is able to Writing/Burning DVD's. This stress would particular study and play DVD's too, DVD mixture, in the different hand skill, that your stress has the flexibility to "study any type of DVD, and to play any DVD video clips" and by no skill able to writing any DVDs. yet they do be able to jot down the clean CD's. they are named for a reason, A dvd mixture would were said as a DVD RW no matter if it really is a dvd burner, why isn't it said as that way ! sure you receive it ...... because it isn't the DVD burner and its only a Reader. wish my answer helped, sturdy success.

I agree with Reaper King. It sounds, to me, that your combo drive will read DVDs but not write them. It is, however, able to write CDs.
In effect, what you were told is correct. You can copy DVDs using this combo drive, but only if you use it as a DVD-ROM (reader). Where this falls down is writing to a blank DVD-R/DVD+R. For this, you'll need a DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW drive.

dvds that you get off the shelf are encrypted, and so you cannot just copy them like you can with most cds.
download DVD Decrypter which decrypts them and stores the decrypted file on your computer, and download DVD Shrink which can burn your DVD from the file that DVD Decrypter makes
