If you're travelling FROM the US to Europe, then YES, they are allowed.

However, I'm not sure what the current restrictions are when travelling from Europe (either mainland or the British Isles) to the US. If that's the case, then I'd contact your airline and get confirmation one way or another. It'd be unfortunate (and expensive) to have your digital camera confiscated at the security checkpoint...

i think theyve relaxed the security a bit but i dnt thk ur allowed any electronic devices on board except for laptops coz theyll jus get battered if its nt hand-carried

Their is no reason why not.But be warned dont use it until you get to the destination.Security is still a fragile issue use your common sense.
