Live? Sure. Enjoy myself as much? Not quite as much, no. Why do you ask, are you an alchoholic? Why is your question in Religion and Spirituality? Are you a prohibitionist? Cuz that worked really well....

I live without alcohol or drugs. It used to not be that way. I had to find something to replace the chemicals and I found it in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. It is a program of recovery based on spiritual principles. It is the easier softer way. Good luck and God bless.

Sure...I'm a diabetic so no alcohol for me. I never liked it anyway...always made me nauseous and I would always feel terrible the next day even if I didn't drink that much. I smoke pot and have for over 40 years and I'm healthy and fit and intelligent and it has had no long-term effect on me (which I think would be hard for a person to say if they had been a drinker for over 40 years).

Live without it? No. Live without abusing it? Yes.
Let me just add I don't drink. Used to but not anymore. Have major alcoholics in my family. Just by the grace of God I don't have an addictive personality.

Could I live without alcohol for recreational use, absolutely. As for medicinal use such as the procurement of herbs, yes also could live without it, but it would not be to my benefit.
