she has only two accidents with me, I had her for 2 weeks. One was total nerves, when I tugged her collar she peed. The other was my fault for not getting her out in time after the night inside. She has been at her new house for a week and she apparently goes pee outside, then comes in and pees on the carpet. She is having non stop accidents. She is a very nervous dog anyway, anyone have a suggestion of how to deal with this?? She is so sweet, I feel so bad! Her new family is fed up and if I cannot help them rectify the problem, they want to take her to the shelter.

They have an acre and a half, very nice family. They want to have her in the house if she wants to be, and go outside to play.

She's in her third (at least) house with a third (at least) family. She doesn't know where she is, she doesn't know how long she is staying, she doesn't know what belongs to her, and she doesn't want to get to close to the new family as in her mind, she probably won't be staying. What she needs is a place of her very own in the new house - a place that she knows that is absolutely hers and she can go there whenever she wants to for quiet time. She needs a lot of praise right now, and lots of love. She's only been at the new place a week - it sounds like the new family aren't giving her a chance at all - raising a dog is sometimes kind of close to raising a kid - a huge investment in time, emotional bonding, that sort of thing. For them to give her only a week is ridiculous. She's peeing because she's marking her territory - maybe in her mind, if she pees there, that means it's her territory and she'll be staying. They're not giving her much of a chance I'm afraid. And it sounds like they don't want to be bothered with any of the work involved in raising a dog. It's going to take time, and love, and attention and until that time, she's going to make mistakes and pee, because she's scared and doesn't want to move to a new home. I wish her well and I hope things work out for her - she sounds like a sweet dog, and she just needs someone to love her.

I'd say don't give up on her yet. Give her time to adjust. Most likely she's nervous and scared. She's moving from home to home. Once she feels like she belongs, I'll bet she'll be ok. Big adjustment for the little thing...new house, new family...again. Maybe the vet should check her out, but I'll bet she'll be ok in time. Good luck!!!

Besides being nervous, has she been looked at by a vet? She could have problems with her bladder. Could have a stone or some other problem that is not allowing her bladder to hold urine or contract to void completely. Don't give up on her, she deserves a chance!

Maybe you should encourage the family to take the dog to a free dog training center?

they aren't makeing sure the dog feels safe - she's really nervous there. If they can't deal with her, please try to take her back and re- place her in a quieter, less stressful home.

some dogs are just nervous tinklers.
She needs a yard w/a fence & just be kept outside.

Maybe she needs to get to know them better. Or they could be mistreating her?
