Right now I am reading the New American Standard. Every time I finish reading the Bible through, I change the version. This helps me get the total gist of passages, as I compare them with other versions.

I have also read the King James, New King James, New International, Holman Christian Standard, English Standard, and New Living.

The New American Bible
The New Jerusalem Bible
The Catholic Study Bible
The Schocken Bible
NRSV

In conjunction with these I use:
The New World Dictionary Concordance
The Collegeville Bible Commentary
The New Jerome Biblical Commentary
Hapercollins Bible Dictionary

I also use different Bibles to help me understand what the authors ment by what the authors wrote. It opens up many new and fastenating layers to scripture!

I am in awe!!!

Read multiple versions, always. Something is ALWAYS lost in translation, so if you correlate two or more sources, you have a better chance of finding the original meaning.
