If God intended us to bend over and do exercises, he/she would have put diamonds on the floor.

Before you start
Don't do these exercises if you're suffering from depression, anxiety or any other mental illness.

Don't do these exercises if you've recently suffered an emotional shock such as a bereavement, broken relationship or other loss.

Don't do these exercises if your relationship is already at breaking point.

If the exercise is one to do as a couple, talk to your partner first (see below). Agree why you think doing this exercise is a good idea and decide on a time and place to complete it.

Agree to use the tips in Productive arguing if you find yourself in conflict.

Think about what you'll do afterwards if the exercise raises difficult emotions.

Asking your partner
Your partner may be more than happy to work through the exercises with you. If, however, you think they may be hurt or angry at the suggestion, follow these tips:

Make sure your partner is relaxed and in a good mood.
Make sure it's a suggestion. Avoid using words such as "should", "ought" and "must". Instead, try "I was wondering..." or "Perhaps we..."
Talk about how you feel the exercise will help you. Leave your partner to decide if they think it will also help them.
Ask them to think about it. Don't expect an immediate answer.
If they say no, try again a few days later, restating that they'd be helping you if they changed their mind.
If they still insist they don't want to, drop it and investigate alternative ways of addressing the issue.

Pick up a fitness mag and look through it, there are newer and more specific workouts out there that u might find alot more appealing.
Why don't you want to do a dvd??????????????
I know u said not to reccomend one, but honestly, I have many years experience in fitness and aerobics (my mom taught classes for over 15 yrs), if u want to do all these workouts and save yourself a hell of a lot of time get the firm with Susan Harris. Its old but its very basic and u can make it very tough with additional weight. None of that silly strip aerobics fluff crap.
A couple sessions with a trainer might be a good idea too, they will teach u the correct way to do these exercises.

Go for a walk or a bike ride. It will do you more good and you may meet someone doing the same thing for the same reasons. Might even find a more fun way to exercise

leg lifts= lay flat on the floor with ur hands by ur sides and lift ur legs striaght up to about a 90 degree angle, repeat as many times as you can

Crunches= Lay on the floor with your knees in the air and ur feet on the ground, and ur hands behind your head or across your chest. (kinda like sit ups but dont go all the way up)
ankle stretches= spell the alphabet with ur big toe pointed forward, and make ur foot go in a circular motion afterwards. hope i helped.

ok def dont do the techniques some these guys sayin, go on to web and search for "toning exercises" or "body conditioning" there is too much detail in these for me to type them all out for you, and dont do these until you have warmed up ie. go for a walk before you muscles need to be stretched for them to work.

good luck xxx
