Not everyone notices the effects of caffeine, the main ingredient in Red Bull and a stimulant best known for enhancing wakefulness. It stimulates muscles - including the heart muscle - to contract and can cause arrhythmias in some people. It also may contribute to anxiety, panic attacks or a feeling of being "on edge." Some people are very susceptible and may feel heart palpitations every time they drink Red Bull, a cup of coffee or tea, eat a piece of chocolate or consume other foods and beverages that contain caffeine or similar chemicals (theobromine in chocolate and theophylline in tea). People may even be more aware of normal heart rhythms and sense these as palpatations after having caffine. For people who are especially sensitive, even decaffeinated products may cause symptoms. (The process used to "decaffeinate" beverages does not remove all traces of the substance). Some people have palpitations when they eat too much. Others are affected by alcoholic beverages, especially red wine, or by allergies to certain foods. These types of arrhythmias generally are not serious but some, such as atrial fibrillation, require medical attention. They usually, but not always, go away if the problem food is eliminated from the diet.

I also have arrhythmia and am extremely sensitive to caffeine and alcohol. I am not as sensitive to the alcohol as long as I do not overindulge. There is no way to keep you from having the problem all together unless you just avoid both caffeine and alcohol. Other things can also trigger it such a being tired or stressed. It is always best to follow your Dr's instructions.

Heart arrhythmia. Just do what the doctor says. Stay away from the caffeine which is in chocolate, tea, coffee sodas etc. Don't drink alcohol and be aware of what over the counter drugs cause it and avoid them. Regularly see your doctor.

I was diagnosed with heart arythimmia several years ago. I try to do as the doctor suggests and not indulge in certain foods, caffiene, alcohol. etc. However, I have not noticed an increased difference in my heart rate when i do occasionally indulge. I do stay away from things that have mahung and gauranna in them. Those are natural enegry boosters and enhancers, they will cause heart attacks and issues in people with healty hearts. Please make sure that you read lables and make yourself aware of the things that can damage your heart.
