Does anyone else have Fibro? Do your family members make you feel like it's no big deal? When I complain, My Husband complains back and it makes me feel like I am just whiney...How do I make him understand how I feel?

See, Some of you people are like it is all in your head...It's not believe me I am not a big complainer...and I don't complain for attention. I am not a house wife I work 45 hrs a week, and yes it may be caused by stress but who cares I am still in pain and he shouldn't make me feel like crap for not feeling good! Ughh....It's always the people who don't have it who don't think it is a real Disease!

Sorry, but your husband, doctor, and possible your specialist WILL not undersand.
I went to a rheumologist trying to get a diagnoses here in Canada where it is not as accepted as the States. And the Rheumologist told me that even though I had all the symptoms, I did not want that diagnoses. He went on further to say that he didn't believe in fibromylgia and thought it was mostly junk science made up by house wives who suffered from too much stress.
Well, I was in brutal pain for two years and had mysofacia pain. My friends and family did not understand and I had to quit my job. I was so mad, that I swore at him and left. I've never mentioned my pain to my family or friends again since. I had enough. I did find out that part of my mysofascia pain was caused by repeated exposure to heat. A dermatologist helped me with this. And by strictly avoid the heat and the cold, I seam to do a lot better. I like a even temperature.
One word of caution. later on. Don't discount all your symptoms as fibro. I had fatigue and I went to a new doctor who sent me for an excercise stress test and it showed a descrease flow flow to my heart. So, discount everything else first, like low-level asthma, low-iron, etc.

Hi Rhonda, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about three years ago after nearly three years of vague symptoms that were definitely debilitating. What you need to do first is find pain control, and once you are able to lessen or eliminate your pain, the physical and mental fatigue will subside as well. Your doctor might prescribe narcotics of various kinds, but there are non-narcotic OTC and homeopathic remedies that are effective. I take 800 mg. of Aleve and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule every night at bedtime to be able to walk the next day, and I take tablets of Arnica, a homeopathic herb, as needed for flareups. Check out the links below for helpful information. I also tell people that just like Yogi Berra said, half the battle is 90 percent mental. I don't have a problem with fibromyalgia--fibromyalgia has a problem with me! Hang in there.

weight-help plan wealthy in darkish eco-friendly leafy vegetables and extreme in omega-3 fatty acids coupled with workout could have a good impact on Fibromyalgia whilst inflammation is a element. Plus, it rather is in simple terms undeniable healthful. 8~) rubdown can generally shrink the severity of the aches linked with Fibro. Acupuncturist often handle fibromyalgia with very solid effects.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Definitely take your hubby to your physician and have your doctor offer him some education. That's the first place to start & then sit down with him after and see if he understands any better. Not to seem impolite or anything, but I might also cart him to counseling with you. That might help him, and you, both learn to communicate more effectively. Both talking, listening, and understanding.

stop it & dont give ur hubby a hard time.
no body wanna live with a person who complains all the time
fibromyalgia is a soft diagnosis & i think MOST women use it as an excuse.
its caused mainly by psychological factors
please try to get out of this stupid diagnosis & b honest to yourself first & to your family second.
Last advice: u might better c a rheumatologist just to exclude other diagnosis like early rheumatoid arthritis.

A friend of mine has it. It can be very painful. She's not a whiner, but when she hurts, she hurts. Gather some info and educate the man.
