i have a couple .zip folders on my desktop but im confused on how to use the ti connect. Any directions would be helpful and appreciated :)

Well, you can't send a zip. If there are any TI Variable/Program/App files in there, just extract them from the zip, right click & choose "send to TI device" (given that you've connected your calculator using a USB cable). IF the "send to TI device isn't there, right click, choose "open with" and "select the program from a list" and choose "TI SendTo Application". It'll open up a window from which you can choose options like RAM/Archive to download it as...
