I just got out of a really rough relationship and it makes me depressed. I've tried to run from her but even though she won't date me, she doesn't want to let me go. I can't avoid her because we go to school together. She does still like me alot, but she is currently dating somebody 3 hours (driving distance) away. I have had another girl in mind, we have been really close friends over the internet for a while now, but she is 6 hours away (driving distance), If she wasn't far away I would have asked her out by now. The only way I ever seem to be happy is if I'm with somebody, or not involved with my ex at all (impossible). I want to know what my ex wants, and if long-distance relationships ever work.

It seems to me that your ex is using you as a fall-back guy. She wants to be able to date someone..and doesn't want you too because you'll be the one she'll fall back onto if it doesn't work. Don't put yourself in that sitauation! It'll make you more depressed and down. Cut her off completely. If she talks to you..just casual talk. Don't go out of your way to get in contact with her. Let her know that you don't wanna keep eating out of the plam of her hand. If she says she loves you..she probably still does..and probably doesn't know what she wants. Don't give her the advantage. She shouldn't influence your relationships at all. Girls don't like it much when guys are still heart-string attached to their exes. If you're still hung up on her and right by her side..I wouldn't suggest doing the long distance thing. It'd only hurt the other girl..and you wouldn't be putting your all into it. If you're ready to completely cut your ex off..I'd say go for it. If you really like the girl..6 hrs. shouldn't matter that much. Just have you both travel half-way and meet half-way. Let her help you..sometimes not talking to your ex and having a girl help you is the best way to let go.

Babe it sounds like you have no confidence and need someone in ure life who will give you some attention that you want so badly. Don't just go out with someone b/c you want a g/f or you're relationships will never work out the way u would like them to. You are in school so you are still young so just focus on something else other than girls for a while, like seeing friends and just having a good time while you're young, nothing needs to be serious and school is so important at ure age, trust me, i regret my school days b/c i spent too much time doing things i shouldn't have and missed out on an education. My advice is take time off away from girls and do things with friends then you will get more confidence in yourself to not need a girl in you're life to make you happy and you will realise you do have self-worth! x

My advice, even if it hurts and is not easy....you have to stop being attached to your ex, if you don't get away from the situation then you won't ever be able to be happy, by yourself or with someone else, don't let her confuse you, if she cares for you is because you guys had something, but she doesn't love you. And don't think that you have to be with someone else right away.....take time for yourself, explore how you feel, and explore life, when you feel ready to be in a relationship again then go ahead, but meanwhile spend time to yourself, and enjoy life....you can still have fun without being in a relationship.

Well. i personally think that your ex might ACTUALLY want to BE FRIENDS WITH YOU! see, here's the deal, because of a few retarded bimbos who started this whole "I think we should just be friends" routine, when a girl actually wants to JUST BE FRIENDS with a guy, it gets blown up into this whole "What does she REALLY mean by that" thing. I mean, when I break up with a guy, I actually want to be friends with them. Get over her and move on. Who cares if the other girl is 6 hours away? Shoot for the stars! It isn't a big deal if you fail b/c there are other people. There are other things going on. You won't die if you don't have a girlfriend. Its isn't the end of the world. I promise.

It's so wrong for you to assume that you could only be happy when you have a girl friend. The truth is that, if you study hard and become successful, women would be tripping over each other in search of you. So you be the judge.

NOW HERES THE 1ST THING: U HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE THAT IS 6 HOURS AWAY. U KNOW ONLINE RELATIONSHIPS ARE A FRAUD AND A BIG TRAP.
2ND THING: YOU NEED 2 SET YOUR X STRAIGHT TELL HER U DONT WANT HER AND SHE NEEDS TO LEAVE YOU ALONE OR YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES( RESTRAINING ORDERS) AND SHE DONT WANT NOTHIN SHE JUST WANTS TO KEEP YOU AWAY FROM ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP SO THAT SHE CAN MOVE ON 1ST
3RD THING: FIND A GURL @ YOUR SCHOOL THAT FITS YOUR REQUIREMENTS AND DATE HER.
