The person who asks the question picks the best answer, if they don't it goes to voting. There is no specific criteria, just what answers people like best. There is no prize...just points and that only gets you levels.

1. Best answer can be chosen by other people on yahoo questions who are reading...Each person who is 2points or above are able to rate answers by clicking the arrow pointing up or down to rate good or bad.
2. The asker can, after 4 hours view all the answers and rate yours as best...and earn 3 points for choosing a best answer.
3. I don't know what you get, if anything for a prize, except the respect and awe of the fellow questioners.

You can always add comments to your question. The person who chooses the best answer is often the asker, because they are the one asking the question. If they go beyond their time limit to choose, the yahoo community gets to choose, which is basically the thumbs up or down you can give. The criteria that you base it on is if that person helped you answer your question or not, so that has to be a personal choice, who helps most or not.

baby this is yahoo answers , it is not an exam or a competition, that u'll get awards or marks.lol its just to show off what u've learned so far, and maybe help others
There is a time limit in which the person who posted the question (Asker) decides the best answer, after that limit is crossed the best answer is decided by votes, there is no specific criteria , depends upon the person who asks the question

I think the elusive "Asker" is the person posting the question.
The person posting the questions has a few options:
1) Choosing the best answer themselves
2) Letting the "rest of us" vote or choose the best answer
No, there are no prizes. Just the thanks of a grateful nation!

As according to your profile you have asked 4 questions interior the previous week & replied 10 questions considering the fact that 5 days - meaning much less 20 factors for asking 4 questions & plus 20 factors for answering 10 questions. you will desire to be on an identical score, yet you're 14 factors down & there would desire to be any motives. a number of your solutions would have been deleted because of violation which will decrease factors.

No one mentioned that if the asker doesn't choose a best answer the whole community can vote and choose the best answer. If you click on Answer then click on the Vote tab you can vote on undecided questions.

Asker is you! Answers are chosen by the Asker or sometimes the person who gets the most votes.
