It depends on why you're keeping them. If you're keeping them simply as a nice memory and to remember your past, then there's no reason to toss them. If you're keeping them because you still have lingering feelings for this ex, then, yeah, get rid of them.

I think that you should keep the scrapbook and the pictures in it. As far as other photos that you have of this ex and you, I think that you should throw them out or give them to someone to give to him. Everyone has a past, but there's no sense in keeping more of it than you have too.

You're right you worked hard on your scrapbook, you should keep it intact. If you want to toss the others that weill be fine, since you still have some pictures in the scrapbook.

I think our past is an important part of us and we shouldn't throw it away. The fact is, it'll still be there either way. It's a part of your identity. I don't think you should obsess on the past, but it's nice to have photos and later, you'll probably be glad you have them, even if you only take a peek at them every few years. It's nice to be able to look back and reflect on where and who we've been, and photos help us remember.
Also, I think that despite getting married you should keep your own identity. I get the sense that you think you almost have to throw yourself away to be fully committed to marriage. In my view, marriage is best if it's two strong independent individuals who are happy apart, coming together to share and celebrate life. So... you get to keep your past.

Hi Susa, Like you said,it's in the past. So,if you worked hard on the book,i don't see why you can't keep it.The pictures of your first boyfriend,if you want to keep them to so,but if you don't care, throw them out.Your past shouldn't matter to your new husband,he is marrying you not your past.Congrats and have a happy life together. A Friend...

Listen to your own heart, lovely.... From what you've posted, you've answered your own question. You think you've worked hard on that scrapbook, you should keep it. I kept photos from my past but did a little closure by tossing out pictures of my ex.

No, don't throw them away. This is a part of your life, a chapter, just like your wedding will be. You'll have other memories of your life you'll photo journal. Children, good times, friends. Would you throw those away after those times have passed??? No. One senior day you'll look back over your life and smile at your first love and all the other photos you've collected over your lifetime.

ya know what, i'm in the same situation. and here's what i think.
im keeping mine because it was a big part of my life, high school is sooooo important, and those who you had in your life then, made you who you are today, and in turn lead you to be with the man you will marry. i never want to forget the roads that i've traveled to make it where i am now, so my pictures are safely tucked away in a box in mine and my fiances closet somewhere. and i hope that when i'm 100 years old i can look at them and be thankful that i've made the choices i did

Having a picture in your scrapbook from high school is hardly cheating.......that would only be if you were pursuing on some level.
It is part of your past as you stated, from other happy times.
Best wishes for future happy times!

I definitly think you should, he's part of the past now, I mean theres no reason for hatred its ok to be friends but to have that memory holding you back is bad. You cant move into the future with the past holding you back.
