I was on chemo for three months when I was a kid, and I just wanted to know how many random strangers took time out of their days to save my life.

Try asking a nurse in the chemotherapy treatment department (or equivalent) in your local hospital. It will probably vary depending on the specific type of disease you were suffering from, as some cancers affect the health of the blood more than others.

When my mom was going through her chemo, they asked that the family members donate blood. In return if she had to have blood there would be no charge. But luckily she never had to have the blood.

One does not always have to have blood transfusions while on chemo.

It depends on the type of treatment and kind of cancer. And how you progress in your chemo.

not everyone on chemo needs blood tranfusions , it happens when the platlets get extrememly low. if you had several tranfusions , i guess it would involve several people . its nice that you are thinking of those who helped you .

dunno - what kind of cancer did you have

Im taking chemo now, but I dont get blood transfusions.
