Yes it is planned. Facts and history are an inconvenient truth that have to be twisted in order to maintain and gain power. Because knowing the true facts would make their supporters walk away. That is why they tell their constituents to only listen to them and never listen to anyone else. It is like a drug and even a religion where the high priest will tell them everything they need to know and nothing else. It is blaspheme to listen to an unapproved source of information.
An example of this is the hate spewed at every opportunity against FOX NEWS by the Priests of the Left. Don`t go there its conservative. We will tell you what conservatives say.
Truth is FOX has become the largest news organization, surpassing CNN and several others combined. Why? Because it actually does give both sides and allows both sides to speak openly without a talking head immediately after interpreting what you just heard. Tough questions are even asked of everyone, Right and Left. The Left flock never knows this because they are forbidden to go there and obey their Priests.
Talk radio is another example. It rose out of the inability to even hear a conservative view point. Air America was put on the radio by the Democrat party and sustained by billionaires as a counter balance. At first millions tuned in. It has gone bankrupt because its ideas failed to hold water and people seeing this just changed the channel. But the High preists are partically responsible because they said don`t listen to talk radio. Just listen to NPR they will tell you what you need to know. It is sad that with just a slight turn of the dial they could have heard something they had never heard before, the truth of what conservatives really were saying. But then they would go to hell.
The worst sin of all is to listen to one of Bush`s speeches. You must wait till the Priests decide what you should hear and let them explain it to you.

I don't think this is a liberal thing. I think it is just a human thing. We all tend to remember things in a favorable light to our own opinions. I have seen many conservatives do the same thing, and it drives me nuts. I believe in truth, and false claims by either side just pollute the debate in general. The simple fact is that many people are not prepared to handle the truth and generally react in one of three manners.
1. Ignore the whole matter and keep mum. If something you have believed to be true turns out to be proved false just pretend like it never happened and that you never said anything in the first place.
2. Deny the truth. No matter what facts are presented. Deny! Deny! Deny!
3. If you cannot dispel the message with your facts, attack the other side strongly in an attempt to discredit the messenger.
The progression is simple. Rule 1 first, if that doesn't work use Rule 2. If Rule 2 fails quickly impose the use of Rule 3. Continue to use Rule 3 until your opponent is defeated, or simply goes away in frustration. Either way you win by default.

call me crazy, but didnt Bush have some drug problems too? i seem to remember he had been arrested for DUI, and again at a sports event.....
also, speaking of political history........ arent WE the ones who trained and armed Osama in the era of Russia being a major political player?
and yes, almost all of supported the war at first, because we were hunting Osama in afghanistan, the war in iraq is another matter entirely. many supported the war in iraq at first because we were made to believe that they had WMD's, which turned out to be false. Colin Powell went before the UN and even said "we intentionally misled the UN security counsel".
so, who's ignoring history here? the people that changed their minds about something that they werent told the truth about? or the people that have ignored the things after the initial lie and still support a war that was set in motion under false pretenses?
as far as politics goes, everyone involved is a liar of some type, and i dont think that Dems are better than Repubs, but there are better repubs than the ones in office right now. i have a real problem with anyone who cant admit to making a mistake, and Bush has made a career out of them.

It starts with schools. Many textbooks now skew history towards the liberal view. School shave become a place for indoctrinating kids into the liberal mind set. I would say most really do not know the facts because teachers choose to ignore and not teach them.

Unknown... though looking at a segment of "Jay-Walking" on "They Tonight Show" certainly shows that a number of Americans are lost when it comes to History...
I DID mention the Bay of Pigs to a Liberal friend... she screamed that it was the "War-Loving-Republicans" who did that...
I had my "US History for Dummie's" book, pointed out to her that it was under the Kennedy Administration and under JFK's orders that the even took place...
She then actually stated "That book is a lie, NeoCon propaganda!!"
Just one example... yet certainly NOT a sweeping indictment of all Democrats.

I think it's pretty equal regardless of party affiliation. Republicans blame Democrats, Democrats blame Republicans. Liberals, Conservatives, the whole lot of all political parties - they all blame everyone else and take responsibility for nothing while spouting discombobulated facts and figures that are total bullsh!t...
Politics suck.

I think they would just rather forget. It makes hating Bush easier for them. They love blaming Bush for Iraq forgetting the Democrats overwhelmingly voted to support Bush in declaring war. They blame Bush for "illegal wire taps" then over a third of the Democrats vote to authorize continuing them. Will these stupid liberals ever not vote for the Democrats that voted for alleged "illegal wire taps"? You know they will conveniently forget about the vote and Blame Bush for it then vote for the Dems that supported Bush. They have no rhyme or reason. I have never voted pro-abortion (Arnold, Pete, if Juliani runs...) and never will. Dems will vote anti abortion as long as their Democrat because they have this memory of convenience.

Basically, they have decided to "cherry-pick" the facts that support their pet theories, to the exclusion of any contradicting evidence.
Unfortunately, it is not exclusively the province of the Dem/Libs.

you understand, this way of BS is ridiculous. everybody here is conscious finished nicely that each and every political social gathering/baby-kisser has selective reminiscence. each and every baby-kisser twists the data and misleads to make themselves look stable. it is not significant who or what social gathering and the two social gathering accusing the different of it is so stupid. anybody who buys into the approach that their social gathering is the stable social gathering and would not lie and deceive is freakin' nuts and willfully unaware of the actuality. What we would desire to do as electorate is call for the actuality and demand the will of the folk be achieved and the only way of doing it is changing the undesirable politicians with what we are hoping to be stable ones. There are some yet not many who are stable and do what's in our ultimate hobbies. get rid of THE INCUMBENTS AND profession POLITICIANS.
