Iit all depends on what you want to do for the service and what you need in life.

I am prior Army, Air force and present Navy dependant and I can tell you the Air Force is a lot better to their men and women but you will be most likely stuck in one place. And more then likely the US. With the Navy you are most always guarunteed a chance to see some of the world. It's a bit hard on the family emotionally if you have a wife and child along the way because you are 75% of the time gonna leave for a period of time. So you need to look at the whole picture. My hubby's on a carrier and has been gone for 1 year and 3 months of our 2 yr 4 month marriage. Not all at one time but total so what ever you choose look at the big picture. Check out their sites. Both are wonderful calling and I admire your desire to serve your loved ones and our nation. Rock on no matter if you choose to be in the chair force, a ground pounder or be a squid serving the country you love is admerable and a great privledge.

As I said I can list a hundrend pros and cons but your wants and needs will difrent from mine and the next man sit down with a recruter or a service member.

here goes...

The Air Force is closer to civilian living than any other branch, save Coast Guard, which falls under Department of Interior rather than Department of Defense. In the four years I was an F-15 mechanic at Eglin AFB, FL, I never ran P.T., had to march in formation, or fire a weapon. I just turned wrenches and fixed jets.

The Navy, I'm guessing, will offer more of a chance for travel but some of that is over miles and miles of ocean in nowhere. I also spent 4 years in the Army as a UH-1H helicopter crewchief and door gunner and had a one month assignment on the USS Deyo, which was a destroyer class with a heli-pad/hanger. We would depart the ship, go shoot at drug boats leaving Columbia, and return to the ship. It was awful! A month confined in small quarters and without touching land! Navy food is hands down better than Army or Air Force food!

I would say Air force if you wanna have a simpler life with better benefits
The Navy my boyfriend was in and he said he loved it because it was a challenge and what he did he would never get to do at his age in the civilian world.

Also with the Air force you must be smarter than the rest your scores on the entrance test have to be better than all other branches. If you love being at sea and over seas goto the Navy if you love Technical stuff goto the air force read that helps too.

Join the air force cause if you join the navy you will be out at sea for months at a time with an all male crew. My uncle was in the Navy and the long time out at sea without contact with a female really got to him.

Navy is only good if you like semen. My saying has always been, "The smartest join the Air Force, the toughest join the Marines, and the leftover crap goes everywhere else." Seriously, if you want an easy job, get a clerical job in the Air Force.

I'm just gonna through some stuff out there:

Air Force:
Better living
Impossibly hard to get promoted
Aren't guaranteed a job of choice
They are pushing people out because they have too many in

Navy:
Lots of travel
First 90 day, no matter what your MOS is, you are a galley b*tch
When you are at sea (from what I hear), the majority of the time you are cleaning and painting the ships because of the sea water corroding it
I know a guy who hated the Navy so much, he quickly switched to the Army.

But don't take my word for it.

The Navy. I love men in navy uniforms. They are so, um, attractive. It is my everlasting sorrow that I live in a landlocked state far away from any naval base. :-) I don't know if that helps you any.

go to a recruiter and ask. They both offer about the same except one you deploy on land the other you stay at sea. It all depends on what you want to expereince, want out of life or whatever.
