Isn't "instinct" short-form for "inferior intellectual processes", as in, they ain't human so human concepts are alien to them?

Where is the "instinctive" urge for an animal to fight to the death to protect its young? When a human does it, we call it "Love", when an animal does it, we call it "instinct".

When humans in a family group watch out for one another, we call it "Love", but when prairie dogs or baboons do it, we call it "instinct".

Isn't "instinct" simply a way for us to assert our perceived 'superiority' over other animals?

For me, Love is the primary motive that exists before all others. Everything else is built upon the foundation of Love.

Dysfunctional life forms are those who have lost their awareness of this primary motive. Rabid animals and rapists fit this definition (one a physical illness, the other a psychological illness).

Humans have instincts as well. Have you not taken elementary school biology yet?

Your argument doesn't get past your first sentence. Instinct is different from cognitive abilities and perception. Man can perceive the effects from any given cause to many different levels for example when you watch a play at the theatre you are aware of the plot, various subplots and interactions all at the same time-that is intelligence. Even primates-the most intelligent animals struggle to be aware of one single effect arising from any given cause, so there is no comparison.

Did you ever suppose that love and instince are the same thing in that case. And it all has to do with the survival of ones own genetic matter. I'm actually reading an old book about that very thing right now. Richard Morris's "Evolution and Human Nature" . The second half of thebook goes into that very subject in depth

So i assume some animals have such solid awareness and misery that that they had be prepared to end their life. additionally, there became into yet another tale on the information some boy falling right into a pit the place a woman guerrilla risk-free him from the male (who might have killed him). i might say that not basically are animals conscious, they are comfortable, worried approximately their very own welfare and- at situations- compassionate to others.

All instinct means is that it isn't taught. It comes naturally. Humans have instincts as well as animals.

no...i don't think so......i believe it is most women's "instinct" to protect a child, whether there's or not.....i do not think animals have self awareness...meaning they do not know , like we do, that we are born to die....they just live day to day, never knowing that they're actions have consequences.....that makes us the superior animal...we are SUPPOSE to know better....
