Nuts are healthy for you, but have a high fat/calorie content. If you eat a lot of them though, you should probably get them with low salt or unsalted.

Eat normally and healthy and then add a healthy nutritious supplement to add extra calories such as Ensure or something similiar. Some people just buy Slim Fast not to go on a diet or to take place of a meal like how slim fast is normally used for but again to use as extra calories and it's cheaper than Ensure.

My sister was very serious about gaining a few pounds and she bought this shake stuff online called Scandi Shakes (chocolate taste better) she drank that stuff with milk and used it ritually and it really worked. She didn't get fat from it but she did gain weight. And when she got to her ideal weight, she drank less of the shakes.

If you're looking to just raise your weight without gaining fat (muscle weight), I'd suggest eating a lot of protein and excercising daily. Make sure you get about 40 minutes of hard cardio workout per day, and make sure you drink PLENTY of water (more than 64oz.).

If you're looking to gain fat straight up, there is no real need to drastically change your diet. Eat what you normally eat but simply add more to each meal. If you eat a slice of pizza with a Diet Coke, eat two slices and make it a regular Coke. If you have steak, baked potatoes, corn and bread rolls for dinner, try adding butter to each and also have some ice cream, pie or cake for dessert.

Not changing your entire diet will help you adjust to the new eating methods.

God I wish I was in your situation.

The only way that I know that is safe and natural is every morning you need to eat some sort of natural cooked cereal such as; cream o wheat ,oatmeal, grits, Bulgar, buckwheat, or rice cereal. You don't have to eat a lot but at least a small bowl for the next two weeks then weigh yourself and see the difference. Leave all those processed cereals alone for a while

If you are on the go a lot or find radical diet change unappealing try making a milk shake using Ensure or Boost in a flavor you like, add ice cream in a compatable flavor. Adding peanut butter to the shake will increase the calorie count and the protien level. I work with the elderly and have used this concoction on my patients who don't like to eat.

Try lean meat cuts - with added fat content - BUT not saturated fats. Try beans, soy products, sandwiches with lean cuts of meat are good. You can increase the density of the foods you eat. Try to avoid pure sugary foods or you'll just get stomach and gastrointestinal problems. One major thing you can do is increase caloric intake through bevarages. Protein increased drinks - smoothies - juices...
