I would like to know if this is a healthy sandwich.. If you could estimate, how many calories do you feel this sandwich has? Please don't base your answers off of other answers, use your honest knowledge:

3 Slices Cold Cut Turkey
1 Slice White American Cheese
Lettuce (average sandwich amount..)
Two Tomato Slices
Spinach Wrap (OR) Whole Grain Roll

I don't put mayo or dressing on my sandwiches. I don't put salt or pepper on them, either. I eat them plain and "straight up".

All answers are appreciated.

Thanks,
Zach

The calories will vary depending on the type of turkey, cheese and wrap or roll you use. You should check the packages.

It is definitely healthier than a burger, but could be even better. Try substituting sprouts or baby greens for the lettuce. If possible, get fresh sliced turkey, rather than processed cold cuts. The same with the cheese, American cheese tends to be rather processed. Perhaps some colby or jack cheese from the deli. Also, check your whole grain rolls and make sure they have at least 3 grams of fiber. There are a lot of breads out there that claim to be whole grain that really aren't.

It sounds very healthy. All you are missing is a little fruit and dairy to make the four food groups. I looked in my nursing dictionary list of nutritive value of foods to find the following food calorie values:
turkey slices 67.5
cheese 105
lettuce 5
tomato slices 5
whole grain roll 120
If you bought low fat cheese and used only 1/2 of the roll to make an open faced sandwich, you could cut down on more calories. But as it stands you have a mighty tasty treat. Happy munching.

Between 400-470 Calories

I'd say 300 cals.
You could add some mustard, that is low in cals and no fat.

Overall it's a good sandwich, but the things that aren't that great are processed turkey (loads of salt and processed chemicals in it), the cheese is probably processed as well, both above wouldn't have as good nutrients in it than if you went unprocessed. The veggies and wrap/roll are healthy.

It would be about 4-5 points on Weight Watchers..I know that. Be sure your bread choice has a good fiber content in it. I would skip the white American cheese. That stuff is processed crap. Get yourself some provalone...its low and fat and REAL cheese.

Not a bad sandwich overall.

Sounds nothing but healthy to me. If your not using Mayo because your being strict, then maybe you should rid of the cheese. I would use it though, and even a little mayo wouldn't hurt. Seems dry w/o it.

Sounds like maybe 250-300 calories, but I am just guessing. That sounds very healthy.

Yes sounds very healthy. You've got your lean protein in there, your vitamins, good carbs and even a little dairy is beneficial as long as the cheese is low in fat. Otherwise, sounds great! Take care : )

I would stay away from spinach, the FDA recently recalled all of it because e. coli was found to grow in it. I would also suggest a less processed cheese, such as smoked Gouda.
