My boyfriend plays video games ALL THE TIME! It doesn't really bother me, except for when I want to talk and all he wants to do is play his game. Or when I'm over at his house and he plays his game instead of talking to me and just chilling with me. I don't want him to stop playing video games completely, but I'm sick of always feeling like the video games are more important that I am.

He plays games that I don't find interesting that take at least a half an hour to play. I find it boring, but he enjoys them. But I don't want him to play them when I'm talking to him!

There's a couple things you can do.

Get in on it :) Choose a game you'd like to play with him..and you have a common interest. Don't let him bully you into playing something you don't want though. If you're over..he should be giving you some attention!

Secondly, tell him how you feel! Tell him..that when you want to talk you want the video games off and that you want to spend some time with him. Not him spending more time on the video games and not paying attention to you.

If you're on the phone..(I have this problem) and he's playing a video game..say something like "Well I guess you're busy I'll let you go." And let him.

When I'm over at his house..he plays video games. Some people might think it's rude..but I don't. He plays for a little bit..but makes sure I'm doing something too..gives us some quiet time for a little bit.

When we're both done one usually tells the other we want to talk or do something together.

well i see your point,it would be really annoying to have someone do that. i think you should learn to play the video game (have him teach you) and that way you can chill with him and he can also play his video game! also if you play that awhile then maybe while you are playing you can ask him a question or 2 at first then maybe next time a little more and before you know it you guys will be talkin` all the time! and hey you will be able to play another video game!

Playing games ALL the time is pathetic ... yeah you can play with him ... you can sit and watch ... you can try to seduce him ... blah blah blah ... in the end if he's choosing to play video games over hanging out with your or even showing some type of interest when you're over than I think it's time to find a boy who likes to play outside or a boy that has some of the same hobbies or activities that you like to do ... it just makes things that much easier .... !

All boyfriends play video games. Threaten to leave and although he'll get mad, he'll put the game down. Unless of course, he really doesn't care. Then well you'll decide your next move.

honey look if you start to gripe about him playing video games all the time you will lose him because nobody like a gripe!! you may just not be interesting enough for him to give up his games and that is why you feel ignored he is looking for something to keep you from running your mouth !!!!

Maybe the games that he is playing are more interesting and entertaining than you are. Snuggle up to him when he's playing and try to get involved in what he's doing. Basically, try to spice up the relationship.

You should consider yourself lucky because my boyfriend doesn't ever stay home. Atleast you know where yours is and you can always talk while he is playing and eventually he'll stop. I can't get mine to stay home even by bribing him with video games. Again your lucky

Chill out, it's just something that he enjoys. Why don't you learn to play, and then you can join him?
