Because without goin there u cannot proudly say that u are a chgurch goer.

I never go to a church,,hence i can never say that.

@MizModelM
Do You Mean That God remains in church only? and he has no power outside the church? and that if u dont go to church, Gos will consider u an enemy?hmmm...

God is everywhere. in every facet every particle every ounce of energy in the whole universe..and God can never constrict him/her/itself in a church or a temple or a mosque.
Church, temples and mosques are only the ways to connect with spirituality for them who are spirituallly weak and needs a mode to realise the supreme power..
Those who are spiritually strong enough dont need these man-made modes for spirituality.

Because the biblical definition of church is the body of Christ (Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18, and 1:24 - there are other scriptures that expound on this as well, such as Romans 12:4-21 and others).

In Hebrews 10:25 we are instructed to not forsake assembling of ourselves together all the more as we see the Day approaching. Ephesians chapter 4:16 says that all the body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies according to the effectual measure of every part makes increase of the body to edifying (or building up) of itself in love.

That's the purpose of coming together as the church. If a joint is missing, some other part is not being supplied. I believe that's why there are so many problems in the church. There's a bunch of joints missing, and we're not assembling ourselves all the more. Is the approaching Day closer today than it was when that scripture was written? And we are assembling ourselves together less not more. The early church used to meet in the synagogue every day.

I wish to add: Christ gave His life for the church. If He can give His life for the church, surely we can get our behinds off the couch and come and give God the time, attention, and praise He deserves for giving His only begotton Son.

It is important to go to church to:

1. Maintain a sense of community with other believers.

2. Encourage others in the faith.

3. To provide your children, or those you love, with an example that there is something to which we should be faithful, besides our selves.

4. Support the works the church does for the poor and disenfranchised.

5. Feed and nourish your soul.

6. Have the opportunity to sing at least once a week!

I have no idea what a Chruch is. I suppose you mean Church. Obviously its going to depend on who you ask. An atheist is going to say "there is no point". A Christian or whatever will give you a nice long flowery answer about being close to God and all that. Take the short answer, its easier. And yes, I know i'll get thumbs down from all the Christians that love the invisible non existant being in the sky.

It is important to go to church not to get closer to God, you can do that through prayer and at home. Do you think in the old days they went to church every Sunday, when it took them an hour to go 5 miles and the church was 15 miles away? The reason you go to church is for fellowship, to be with your extended family. To be around people that are good(for the most part) that belive in what you belive in. You don't feel ostrasized or outcast. You don't have to worry about the outside society influences. You go for that support. I hope this helps, God bless

*To Remember Jesus Christ (we need reminders because we forget so fast)
*To worship God (even if you think you could be learning more by staying at home reading a book, or something)(To be where God wants you to be...builds committment and the habit of obedience to Him).
*To take the sacrament - to renew the covenants and promises you made to God at baptism - and by so doing - receiving the blessing of the Spirit from this sacred ordinance
*As a witness to the world that there is such a thing as organized religion.
*To serve others (especially if you have a calling there, like teaching a class or something)
*Social aspect (Unity - to be with others with the same eternal goals - To strengthen and help others who are weaker in the faith and to benefit and be strengthened by others who are stronger in the faith)(to build friendships)
*To receive guidance from our leaders

there are probably even more reasons, but these are some reasons I like to go to Church...

Going to church is important so you stay strong in your faith. Going to church allows believers to build each other up, to pray for each other, encourage each other and to hold each other accountable. It also allows you to learn about the Bible from people who know more about it than you.
If you don't go to church your faith can become stagnant. I speak from experience. For the first couple years I was out of college, I did not have a church home and did not attend regularly. Although I was still a believer, my faith was not as strong as it had been and I started to lose my love for the things of God.

There are many opinions on this question:

To some it is a support group
Others to fellowship
to feel close to God
for condolence
because they are lonely
for the importance to worship.

It's not. Religion is a lie to keep people in order. It was designed for a time when there were no police. It has no place in a modern society that has science to prove it wrong time and time again. Stop wasting your life on a hateful fear based evil cult that just wants your money.

To receive Jesus in Holy Communion, to have fellowship with the other members of the Body of Christ, and to obey the law of keeping the Lord's Day Holy.
