I did have - and boy did I get unlucky! he was a Christianist fundamentalist, preoccupied with diagnosing problems with alcohol (I don't have and never have done); jealous because I was better qualified professionally than he was - although I really did need help at the time - he lied to me and about me, including telling me that four patients in the hospital had complained about me (which he couldn't substantiate when challenged to produce the records thereof) so it was simply designed to put me down; the one thing he was good at was an unerring eye for what to do or say that would hurt me.

At the time one of my problems was hypersomnia - that is, sleep disturbance that manifested as often needing too much sleep - and he insisted on booking his appointments at 0700 through 0900 (not good for the sleep disturbance, and who on earth is in the mood for psychiatric help at that time in the morning). I could go on and on ... the point is, this chap is still in practice (private practice at that, earning a small fortune); holds a professorship at a University; and protected by an employer who's rich enough to wriggle out of charges of malpractice (he already has done, twice). My own doctor refuses to send any more patients to him, and has spread the word amongst other doctors locally, but he's still out there, unaccountable, and doing harm.

Personally I am curious as to why you ask? I actually have a psychiatrist, psychologist, and a therapist, that all deal with different things in my life, which is getting better. I have been receiving mental therapy for about 5 years, and I am still alive and not so hell bent on being pissed about anymore.

I have a therapist. I've been going to him for about 3 and a half years. About a year before him I had one who I went to for only a few months. She wasn't very good.
