I feel very close to Allah.
Sometimes Allah is protecting those children. What if the father was an abuser?
Sometimes the things that happen to us that we don't like are actually the events that keep us safe, help us grow, etc etc
I don't believe that Allah has abandoned me.
If you believe that there is an afterlife and it will be great, then death isn't necessarily a bad thing. Mohammed (PBUH) was given the choice by Allah to stay on earth until judgement day or to die in the normal fashion. He chose to die.

Fathers who abandon their children follow their own feeling (whatever that is- coward/confused/g\financially challenged). God would not want any child to be hurt.
