NO. You must go toxic fleas. Sure, you can put the little bowl of water in front of the night light, and catch 1% of them, but is that really effective?

Adams is the best pesticide for fleas. The foggers are great and kill the eggs too. Frontline is way better than Advantage for the dog treatment as well.

There are plenty of household remedies and natural products out there for flea control. Below are some great links that give loads of info on dealing with fleas. Also make sure to vacuum frequently, wash all the pet bedding in hot water, and treat carpets. If you don't you are only dealing with the adult fleas and the eggs they lay in bedding and carpets will continue to hatch, and you'll keep having flea issues. Also I would advise against giving your dog garlic as some home remedies suggest...garlic can cause kidney and liver failure in dogs. Personally I would recomment Frontline Plus. I've found it to be the most effective.

I give my dogs Brewer's Yeast tablets. It has garlic in it among other things and not only is it good for their coats, it helps keep fleas down. I do use Bio-Spot, which isn't natural, but works great and smells like oranges. I have used it for years now and never have a problem between the 2 products. I live in an area that has a huge flea problem and there were times my neighbors all were fighting fleas and I had none.

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but there really is no way to get rid of fleas, no matter what you try. The only thing that you can do is wait...wait until the colder weather comes, that will kill them off. Unless you live in a warm region, then I am sorry for you! If you live in a cold region it will kill them, but it was just on the news yesterday that the fleas are really bad this year, due to the warm winter we had last year. Hope this helps, although I don't think this was the answer you were looking for.

Get a flea trap they are wonderful. No chemicals at all just a lamp under a shade with a sticky pad to catch the fleas. They are attracted by the light and warmth and when on the sticky pad can;t escape. I have had one for years and it is more effective than any else I have used. The bulb is the same sort that you find in most fridges.Just look up flea trap on any search engine.

My dog's had flea's about a month ago, first time in a long time too...
It hadn't gotten out of hand yet and I think that is also key, catching the problem early. First I bathed them, washed all bedding, their bedding, rugs, floors & cleaned the carpets after sprinkling salt all over, everything the dogs had touched, left it for 24 hours which really stunk ;( But so far no fleas! I heard salt worked well on floors & fabrics. And on the dog too, but I chose not to try that...

You can start sprinkling a little garlic in the dogs food. The smell will release through their skin and keep the fleas off of them. It may take some time but should work pretty good. (Just dont over due it on the garlic it could be harmful if way to much is given to the dog at once.)

Put a bowl full of water and 1 tbsp of lemon Joy in it. Mix it up so it is a little bubbly.

Place the bowl underneath your puppy and watch the fleas fall off. It really works! They don't like the smell of the liquid or something.

A bowl of Dawn Dishliquid on the floor and the fleas will jump in and die, plus use a little bit mixed in with pet shampoo to clean your pet to kill them there, just be sure to rinse thoroughly!

I have tried the salt in the carpets it works really will. Also to keep from getting fleas in your house the yard really needs to be treated because not only do the pets bring them in from the yard fleas can also get on your shoes and you can bring them in too.
