Depends which version of Christianity you want. The Catholic Church says sex is only for married couples to make babies. Mind you, the Catholic Church also believes in miracles - so if you're infertile you might as well keep trying!

Actually, many people belive sex is of the devil. Because of the pleasure aspect and because they confuse it with lust.
Sex was a part of God's creation and for mankind is meant to be a pleasureable thing. If part of a loving relationship between husband and wife there is nothing sinful in it.
As long as sex does not actually replace love, but is part of love, it works out ok in God's eyes. As for being infertile, so?
Doesn't make it a sin to have sex as per the above. It just means the infertile person wouldn't need to use any man made contraceptives to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
As far as God is concerned, enjoy life. Enjoy love and have fun. Just don't let the sex dominate any relationship as it will destroy it.
Let love dominate and sex be a part of that love and everything will work out just fine.

well hearing the beliefs of the current pope, I believe it is in the strictest sense. But I would feel sorry for any one who would actually refuse to have sex on such grounds. let's be honest is it more than a good bit of fun between 2 adult people. If we'd all have more sex this world would be a much better place. I guess some of these war mongering world leaders ain't been getting any for a long time.

The Bible teaches that sex is to be shared within a marriage of a man and woman. They both should remain monogamous. Sex was given not only for procreation but also to emotionally bind one to their partner. As long as the sex is within a marriage it not only IS NOT a sin but is a gift from God. Children are an additional blessing from God.
The pleasure of sex is celebrated in the Bible....Song of Solomon

What a silly question. Since when is it a Sin to have sex? Sex (within marriage) is a wonderful spiritual experience. It's not just a means to create children. Obviously you haven't read your bible and have a very narrow mind about Christianity.
Read Song of Songs (Old testament) and you will read an erotic poem of love. it is beautiful and affectionate.
please don't ask these questions, designed to provoke, without thinking it through first.

Im a christian and sex is not a sin in itself. It is only wrong when done outside of marriage. God designed us to have sex, and intended for married couples to have sexual pleasure.

That's a good question. Many christian sects believe that sex is for procreation only (feel sorry for them). However, I don't know of anywhere in the bible that actually states this.
