I've been noticing large police convoys (usually between 30 and 40 vehicles) that travel uptown around West Houston street in the past month. Usually around 2 o'clock these NYPD squad cars will head uptown. I've seen them multiple times and usually in the same place. I'm curious as to the reason why all these vehicles are racing uptown with sirens blaring. Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't think it's due to the U.N. General Assembly because I've been seeing these since mid-summer.

It seems that you're the fool Joe. Do you think that I would've bothered asking this question if the media and/or other sources provided me with a sufficient answer?

If you don't have anything constructive to say then please keep your comments to yourself.

You are definitely not very smart.

Try picking up a newspaper, or watching the news sometimes and you won't be asking stupid questions and showing the world how ignorant you really are.

Could it be something to do with the General Assembly of the United Nations and all the heads of government that have been visiting?

its basically doing a show of force. Its to show the people, mostly terrorists, that the police are out here and we're watching you. They are going to areas high on the terrorist list.

FYI: the 61st General Assembly ended last week
