whoever said 5 yrs was right...5 years old nonstop. 8yrs old with connecting flights. beware...airlines will make you pay up to 75-100 dollars for what they call an ''unaccompanied minor'' fee. you'll need to fill out paperwork, have phone numbers, etc. good luck and have a safe trip!

The youngest unaccompanied minor age is on Air France and they allow 4 years olds, or they did...on non-transoceanic flights. 5 on most US domestic carriers IF they allow UM's. Some do not allow them on connections, some do not allow them at all. There are services where you can hire a Sky Nanny, but you pay for their plane ticket, so you are just as well to fly with them anyway. Young children, even 5 are still too young to be flying alone. I worked for an airline and some kids do it so often, they can navigate the airports better than the adults and log more air miles than business travelers. Some kids are totally traumatized by the whole experience...

But 2 is way to young to fly unaccompanied.

I believe the airlines are raising the age of kids flying alone to 11 so 2 is way too young. You can't leave a 2 year old alone at any time so how and why would you want to on an aeroplane? Some airlines employ "Nannies" that will accompany young children on flights but it's at your cost. They're usually retired flight attendants so they know all the emergency drills, etc.

NO!! Airlines will not allow anyone under 5 to fly alone for liability reasons. Even if they did, 2 is Way Too Young. That would be sooo traumatic to the child.

No. The minimum age that a child can fly alone is 5 (for a single flight - that is from point A to point B) and 6 if it is a multi sector flight (that is, involves a plane change somewhere)

( there became right into a $50 can charge, and it became into annoying as hell, yet i've got been given bumped as much as first-classification on my way homestead, so its all sturdy.) besides the undeniable fact that, I actual have bee non multiple flights devoid of any fuss. it somewhat is a discomfort to handle, through fact the coverage differs for each airline, so for you to in all probability examine the airline's internet site. besides, he ought to visual reveal unit for adjustments in the coverage. while i became into 12 years previous, i traveled to California by utilising way of JetBlue. i did not require supervision on the flight to California, yet on a similar time as i became into nonetheless there, they replaced the coverage. A $seventy 5 value became into required, and that i wanted an grownup to accompany me on the flight homestead.
