They have decent diary/journal keeping software

Also FranklinCovey.com can help you with their planning software which includes diary/journal keeping

Since you can keep personal, private diaries on myspace and so many other blog sites, I think the market for diary software has gone way down.

Why not just use Microsoft Word? If you don't want anyone reading the files just encrypt or password protect them.
