Whenever i get think about it during the day i will stop what I am doing and do 25-30 push-ups, just to relieve stress, get my blood pumping, and build up my upper body when i can't be at the gym. I do this at least a dozen times a day, usually more. Is this beneficial, or should I try doing them closer together?

You should first determine whether you want to build muscle mass in your chest, or just be fit and trim.

If you want to have a lean, flat chest, then your current routine is good - and commendable.

If, however, you want to develop the pectoral muscle mass, you would benefit from doing sets closer together (60 second in between, ideally). The important point is to rest at least a day or two in between. It may not feel right, at first, but your pectorals will need time to rebuild and refuel with glycogen (starch) for that swollen look.

Think about the rest of the cells in your body. They don't just divide and divide and divide. They divide once, rest and store nutrients, then divide again when conditions are right. The same goes for your muscles.

This is fine, but I would recommend doing bodyweight exercises for the rest of the body to develop balanced strength and maximize your stress busting effects. You could choose one exercise per "mini-workout" such as push-ups, Door frame chin-ups, lunge and crunches. You should also try Yoga. It requires no equipment and develops the body and mind evenly.

It depends upon what desired results you are after. The closer you position your hands during this exercise the more you target the tricep and interior deltoids. All exercise is good but not all achieve results. To achieve results in any exercise you need to increase heart rate and tax muscle fiber.
