The idea that everything is one, "all in all" was in the mayan's head for a long time. How does the Bible refute this idea, and can you provide some Scriptures for it ? Thanks in advance :)

Mary Baker Eddy felt death and sin were illusions and she had a tellephone installed in her coffin.... funny thing... no body made a call

an illusion is a mirage... a non reality... however we live in reality... God is real...heaven is real and hell is real
perhaps one area of difference is that the Bibilical God is transcendently above everything else, unchanging and unflawed

evil is not an illusion, evil is evil, little children are really unjustly killed sometimes and it is no product of one's imagination

in the end the notion of illusion, cheapens life rather than the alternative of God dealing with the reality of sin and death by sending Jesus so people could glorigy God leaning on Jesus work on the cross

and the reality of hell.... telling yourself it's only an illusion won't be much comfort and even in this life it only will lead to despair and meaninglessness

It's the old saying "cogito ergo sum" (= I think, therefore I must exist). Does it matter whether what you perceive as reality is an illusion or not? It's the only reality you know at present so you might as well live with it & make the best of it.

The Bible starts with the understanding that we all have a perception of reality. Same way as if you start building something, you can't rest it on nothing.

If everything is an illusion, there's nothing to refute, so why refute an argument that refutes itself?

A) There is a vast difference between believing that everything is an illusion and everything is interrelated.

B) If you think that all is illusion except yourself, then you are a solipsist.

C) If you think that everything is interrelated, including yourself, then you are a pantheist.

D) Personally, I'm a Catholic.

E) The Bible does not specifically refute either concept except to say repeatedly that there is only one God and you ain't Him.

Quite correct, everything is an illusion, except for the 'Atma' soul, that which is really who we are. Man's attachment to this material world is but his downfall. We should concentrate on the upliftment of our 'darma' inner being for that is our true purpose here on this earth.

Christians have long recognize that Jesus Christ teachings were part of ancient writings and belief. This is because Truth is one, and connected.

The Bible confirms the ancient beliefs and their partial knowledge of Ultimate Truth.

Jesus Christ is the completeness of Ultimate Truth.
