It is low-fat frozen yogurt and it is definitely not the only thing I eat. When I was just eating diet food, I hit a plateau, but now that I've added this low-fat frozen yogurt, all of a sudden the weight is dropping again.

Hey, I would watch that ice cream, it tends to sneak up on you later and its full of calories and fat. I think you are getting satisfied so easily on ice cream that you aren't wanting more food when you eat your ice cream. Its all that cream, milk, sugar filling your tummy.
Try sorbet instead!

This is not true. Ice cream has a high fat content which is the enemy of weight loss. Apparently something in your diet is causing it, but to put ice cream as the main cause is incorrect. It could be a cut back on your calorie intake, a lower fat diet, lower sodium, it could be a bunch of factors. Ice cream is the devil and is among dietings worst enemies. So think of it this way, by cutting out ice cream you'll lose even more weight.

I had a friend who swore they didn't eat anything but ice cream all summer and actually lost weight (she didn't do it to lose weight, but she said that's all she had an appetite for in the summer heat). My guess is that she was losing weight because of malnutrition.

You didn't say that you were eating exclusively ice cream, but if you are on a diet, and you're eating ice cream, you're probably still taking in fewer calories than when you weren't dieting. If you're dieting AND exercising, then you're also burning calories you weren't before.

If you're losing weight by eating well-balanced, nutritious meals and you're able to treat yourself to ice cream (check on the side of the carton to see that you're only having a single serving size or less), then that's great! But if you're starving yourself and eating ice cream, chances are, that weight will come back quickly once you stop dieting and you're doing your body more harm than good by not giving it what it needs to work efficiently. Eventually, and you'll end up with more weight on you, plus a nasty ice cream habit...a vicious cycle!

Ice cream is concentrated Nutrition and taken by itself gives you a feeling of saturation . This is the reason why it is never served until after you have had your stomach full.

When you drink cold beverages or eat cold foods like ice cream.
Your body has to work harder to bring the consumed food to body temperature which increases your metabolism which in turn burns more calories.
