It's not circumcision - it's called Female Genital Mutilation or FGM, and it's a form of torture. Basically, a girl is tied down with no anaesthesia or sterilized tools and her clitorus (and sometimes the surrounding areas) are cut out of her genital area so that she will never be able to experience any sort of sexual gratification. Then, they are sewn up so tight that the husband, on the wedding night, literally has to rip through her vaginal tissues to perform intercoursxze. Many women die from the pain and infection. Some are so horribly mutilated that their scars never heal properly..

It is called a "Clitoridotomy". In western cultures is is almost never done. There was a single case where a doctor was doing it as he performed cesarean sections. Although what he was doing is not what is done to women in Africa and the middle east. This doctor was surgically removing the "hood" from the clitoris. This would cause the women to be hypersensitive and actually lose some of the sensitivity and thereby some sexual pleasure. This doctor thought he was "Enhancing" their sex lives.
In the middle east and Africa, it is NOT done by medical personnel. It is done usually with a razor blade (sometimes a rusty one). In this case they remove the clitoris all together in order to ensure that the girl/woman does not receive ANY SEXUAL PLEASURE.. They do this to keep married women from cheating on their husbands, and young girls from having pre-marital sex, there is no other reason.

Clitorectomy.
Where it is still performed, the practioners use all kinds of intruments....some times glass, razor blades, whatever is sharp... and they cut out the clitoris.
When it heals, the opening to the vagina is much smaller due to scar tissue, making sexual intercourse extremely painful for the woman. But nice and tight for the guys....

It's called a clitoridectomy. They hold a girl down and cut off her clitoris. It's very barbaric and not at all a circumcision, which is the removal of the foreskin from a penis.
