What purpose it serves to know the number of pages in a book? I've seen a few people over the past couple of weeks ask for help finding the number of pages in a book and I don't understand the purpose of having that information. I would just like to understand. Thanks!

the number of pages determine how long or how short of a time period that person has for reading the book. 500 pages = too much, 20 pages= perfecto!
