I was curious if anyone else had this breed. It's still considered rare in the US so there isn't a whole lot of info out there. I've had to rely on what I've been able to find online. (We had to drive over 2 hours to even find a breeder that had puppies.) My pup is now 7 months old and was curious what health problems they've experienced.

We have 2 pups one 8 months old male and a 6 month old female. It took us a while to locate our 2 also.We are in Ohio and had to get our male from Kansas and our Female from Michigan. We have had a few allergie problems with our male.We were told by other owners to watch for Bloat. They also tend to have hip problems so they need a good large breed puppy food, and dont let them get over weight as this will aggrivate the hips.We were also told that if they have to be put to sleep that they can not tolerate the same dose annestisia as other large dogs,so make sure your vet knows the breed or else speaks to another vet that does. We had to search for a vet that had even treated one before.

you've probably already been there, but check out www.dogbreedinfo.com , then go under pure breeds and look for the breed name. It is alphabetical so it should be easy to find. I've owned them before and honestly, they just drool a lot, sleep a lot, pass gas at inopertune times. Bones wise, they are fine. Some, like all breeds of large stature, can develop dysplasia but it is not common in all the dogs. overall, a pretty healthy breed. Oh, they have tendency of overeating also so watch his/her diet.
