And some shackles too... for all the folks Christianity keeps imprisoned and as an homage to the church's historical support of Nazism, slavery, female oppression, denial of sex education in areas desparately in need of it, ignoring the AIDS epidemic...

This is mail from a German Non-christian:

although I really do NOT like Joseph Ratzinger, he would not deserve that. Don't get me wrong, you can disguise in his dress, but the swastika would make it evil. Why would you add that?

I think you might not be informed about the fact that young boys at the time were not asked wether they wanted to join the Hitler Youth. They were just added by law on a certain birthday. There was no way to get around that, unless you were jewish or anything else, but german children could not get around that. And it was dangerous to even try.

So little Joseph was a member of the Hitler Jugend, like everyone else in his age. Why would you bring that up at a party, when you appear as his new self as pope?

This question seems typical for uninformed americans, and that is why I find it so annoying. You don't know anything about the history, but want to appear smart? Or what else would be the reason for your idea?

If you want to, if you want to declare that the Pope is/was a Nazi.

I wouldn't do this, but at Halloween, people wear all kinds of costumes to make all kinds of statements. For example, I dressed as the Whore of Babylon last year. Although I didn't fashion my costume this way, I was inspired by the fact that Bush regained the White House in 2004.

Consider where you live and where you hang out. If you can do this--Pope as Nazi--without getting beaten up, go for it.

it ought to be offensive if the guy dressed that way is making an attempt to make enjoyable of the Pope or make some style of fact it somewhat is derogatory. yet while somebody is purely deciding on the outfit through fact its diverse of in the event that they know the Pope...i does not discover it offensive. My son went to a halloween celebration and somebody got here dressed as Jesus. It became into ok until the guy all started making enjoyable, going around blessing people, a girl dressed as a dominatrix used her whip to make enjoyable of the enthusiasm, stuff like it somewhat is quite offensive. people ought to be respectful of others.

I do not think that would be appropriate. I am not even Catholic and I say you are just wrong to ask such a thing. Do you equate hitler's youth to being a Nazi? I do not think many of the children were given a choice.

if the pope does, then yes...

but i wasnt aware he did. not that i really care.

or do you mean as a clever joke? in that case the answer is NO.

not because we are talking about a swastika. but because it is NOT clever, nor is it funny. not even if the pope is german. not even if he is from bavaria to boot...

You should include a bullet proof vest as well. The Muslims may want a piece of you.

no, you idiot. if you want to wear the swastika, be a nazi. if you want to wear the bent cross (what is was before hitler appropriated it) be a knight templar or the hindu god of the sun. and stop trying to incite religious fanatics with your crazy questions.

Do some homework before blindly bashing something that you have no knowledge of.

I am embarrassed for you.

Peace!
