an interest. why would you be obligated to follow any religion if you are living in a free country with free will? you do what you please. that's the beauty of america.

It has to be an interest to be sincere. When it becomes an obligation, it's forced rather than from the heart, so no longer sincere, and in essence, no longer a religion.

It is neither. For some it is an obligation but it shouldn't be. Either you are faithful to your beliefs or you're not. It shouldn't be an interest.

That depends. HOWEVER, I couldn't follow a religion that used fear, shame and "obligation" to keep my faith.

So personally, I suppose the word "interest" works, although I think for me it's deeper committment.

Religion is a medicine to end our suffering.
For us its a choice that we take the medicine or not. But for our loved ones its and obligation that they given us that medicine. :)
Similarly it is your obligation to give that to your loved ones.

Religion is supposed to be the teaching/learning and worship of our Lord Jesus! However, man has made it an obligation.

neither-- it is the guidelines by which I live my life. Out of experience, truth, and love. Not obligation or mere interest.

no, niether. God doesnt want us ot feel obligated, he wants us to find his true love within us and trust in him and have faith. there is no obligateion. It isnt a releiogn of "interest" but one of the truth.

through the urges of our own body, mind, spirit, we are led to spirituality. Religion is an option in this obligation to grow.
