What do you think about the name 'Paulex' for a boy? Stupid or good?

It will be interesting for him as he matures. Personally, I like it. He could go by Paul for short and that's a steady name. Are you rearranging the Pollux name from Greek mythology? If so, I like the spelling too & this also would give Paulex an immediate topic of conversation with just about anyone he meets.

If you like the name, then it is unfair for someone else to deem it "stupid."

I've never heard of the name, but that doesn't mean it isn't good.

My mom named my sister Byronny 18 years ago. The entire family gave her a hard time and it did seem strange at the time. Now she seems to have grown into it and it fits her perfectly. We've even found that the name has gotten around. There are girls several years younger than her that share her name.

Your son will have to be very strong to grow up with a name like that... you are almost setting him up to be a geek though... Probably get refered to as Rolex or something... Different is good but you and the child have to be prepaired for ridicule.

My sister's name is Katlyn(pronounced Cat Lynn) and she actually had her 2nd grade teacher argue with her on how to pronounce her own name and tell her that her name is prounounced Kate - Lynn not Katlyn... I think a 7 or 8 year old can say their own name... so be prepaired.

Um... is there a history or origin or some particular reason for the "ex" at the end? Sounds like a really bad sci fi name. Sorry. How about just Paul?

No, it's not stupid, but whoever is thinking of naming their son that might want to think about the consequences of having that name, such as what words rhymes with it. I can think of several not so flattering words that would rhyme with Paulex.

Kids have the ability to be cruel to anything that's different from what they are accustomed to, so...

I don't even know how to pronounce that, so it's probably not a good idea...but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's stupid, I'm sure it has some kind of meaning for you.

There will never be a president with the first name Paulex. If that doesn't bother you then go for it.

****It is strange but maybe not in 20 years.

Sounds like Playtex or a name for a plastic company like latex. Not a great name at all.
